Voicereels Demo Packages

A voice reel is a short audio demo, typically consisting of a series of mixed recordings compiled into a single file, showcasing a talent’s vocal range and abilities. Voicereels are an essential requirement for any voiceover talent that seeks to attract casting directors, producers and clients for consideration of a role or job. Each reel focuses on a particular style — for example business, commercial, character, or narration — aimed at demonstrating the talent’s skill, experience and capability for that particular type of work.

Demo reels produced by Voicereels.com contain 6 scripts, which is a classic industry standard. Each script focuses on a distinct tone of voice, featuring different products, brands, characters or subject matter to demonstrate flexibility, range and diversity.

Casting directors and hiring clients will typically listen to a pre-recorded demo reel to qualify and determine your suitability as a candidate for a specific job or audition. Professionally produced reels offer increased assurance and confidence in your capability to deliver a quality recording, thereby increasing your odds of landing roles.

Possibly. On occasion, the mere existence of a high-quality demo reel has the potential to gain immediate interest and job opportunities on large casting platforms, sites or agency rosters. However, there are no guarantees. Whilst professional demo reels are typically seen as ‘must-have’ tools for getting voiceover work, building and sustaining success as a freelance creative will also depend greatly on your performing ability, training and experience accumulated over time and — perhaps most importantly — your commitment to marketing yourself. If you’ve recently embarked on your voiceover career or if you’d like to get help further progressing, consider booking our Getting Started in Voice-Over consultation.

Yes. Whilst some sessions may involve recording in a local recording studio, the calls, management, direction and oversight are all performed remotely, enabling us to produce demo reels with both aspiring and experienced voice-over professionals from all over the world.

Not necessarily. However, if you don’t have any previous acting or performing experience, we strongly recommend gaining some voice acting training or coaching before recording your first demo reel. This helps ensure you can deliver confident, professional recordings and get the most value from the process.

Yes, but in such cases we strongly recommend a consultation first, such as Getting Started in Voice-Over. In many cases we are likely to suggest gaining some coaching or training first. This ensures your reel truly reflects your potential and meets industry expectations. Without any professional experience or training, it’s extremely difficult to deliver the level of performance expected by casting professionals and clients.

Yes. We’ll help determine if you’re ready to record or if additional preparation would benefit you first. Contact us at [email protected] to arrange a free 15-minute consultation.

Recording too soon will lead to a demo reel that doesn’t reflect your full potential and will limit the opportunities and benefits of producing it. That’s why we recommend being properly prepared before you set out to record your first demo reel.

A voice reel is a showcase of your current ability. Vocal training, particularly, helps you develop performance skills, consistency, and versatility. Your demos need to represent you at your best, which is why you’ll want to consistently and regularly create new demo reels — at least every 18 months — with or without the assistance of professionals.

No. At present we do not offer voiceover coaching or acting training. Our focus is on delivering high-quality demo production. We’re happy to point you in the right direction if you’d benefit from further coaching before recording your demos.

Almost all DIY reels lack the professional polish, structure, engineering and industry insight needed to impress casting directors and clients. A professionally produced reel ensures your voice stands out for the right reasons.

Yes. A high-quality voice reel will be needed just to get considered for work, but it also complements marketing outreach for voice actors. A professionally produced demo reel can significantly improve your chances of securing paid work.

We offer a range of packages to suit the goals and objectives of voice talents at different stages of their career. If you’re unsure, contact us at [email protected] to arrange a free 15-minute consultation to ensure you select the best option for you.

Timelines depend on your selected package and availability. Producing a demo reel is an interactive and highly collaborative process, so your involvement is key. Most reels are produced and completed approximately 4–6 weeks from purchase.

Once you’ve purchased your selected Demo Package, we’ll get in touch to schedule an initial call, where you will meet with an experienced producer and your demo(s) will be planned in detail. The process will depend on whether you have purchased a Sample or Reel Package:

Reel Package process

  • Initial call. Our producer will introduce themselves, discuss your ideas and objectives in relation to the reel(s) and offer advice and guidance about the scripts, styles and tones that would best suit your voice. You will work with the same producer from start to completion.
  • Audio check (for home studios). If you are recording your demo from a home studio, we will perform a check of your setup. We review a recording made from your studio and provide feedback about your equipment and acoustic treatment, outlining any potential issues that require your attention.
  • Script planning and music selection. We’ll collaborate with you to prepare a selection of handpicked scripts that you will use for recording the various samples for your demo reel. The scripts will be delivered to you in a Word document. Each has guidance on the tone of voice and style of delivery, and will include links to listen to the backing tracks chosen by our producer. If you are unhappy with any of the scripts or music, one round of amendments is included.
  • Test read session. The purpose of the test read is to ensure that the scripts are a good fit for you, prior to booking the recording session. We will provide guidance on the pace and tone required for each read, and the scripts will potentially be adjusted to ensure smooth delivery and timing. If any of the scripts don’t work, we will replace them.
  • Recording. Usually takes place 1–2 weeks after the test read session, but the exact timeframe is subject to the availability of the director and studio. If you’re recording at a local studio, we will arrange the booking for you. Whether you’re recording from your home studio or at a studio we have booked for you, we will provide guidance remotely via Zoom during the session. Our producer and an experienced voice director will be on hand to support you in getting the very best takes.
  • Post production. Once we’ve obtained all of your raw audio files, we begin the post-production work. This involves selecting the best takes of each script, or blending elements from multiple takes to ensure the strongest possible performance. Our engineers will edit and process the voiceover to remove unwanted clicks and pops caused by mouth noises, and to reduce the level of sibilance, plosives and breaths as required. After this is completed, we will level-match the audio for each clip (script), and mix the voiceover with music and FX before building the reels. We will then send you MP3 versions of all files for review. Your feedback is always welcome and we are happy to make amendments to the audio where possible. Mastering is the final stage of production — we will add the finishing touches to your demos and ensure they are broadcast-ready. Once this is completed, we will send back the fully optimised files in both WAV and compressed MP3 formats (for use on websites).

Sample Package process

  • Initial call. Our producer will introduce themselves, discuss your ideas and objectives in relation to the reel(s) and offer advice and guidance about the scripts, styles and tones that would best suit your voice. You will work with the same producer from start to completion.
  • Audio check (for home studios). We will perform a check of your setup. We review a recording made from your studio and provide feedback about your equipment and acoustic treatment, outlining any potential issues that require your attention.
  • Script and music selection. You select professionally written scripts from our script library or supply your own. We will provide you with links to a website where you can select backing tracks. Once you have your selections, send them to our producer for feedback and guidance. They may suggest alternate scripts or music to ensure your demos are suitably varied and in line with industry standards.
  • Recording. You record from your home studio and submit raw audio for our engineers to work with. The recordings should be made at 16-bit 48kHz (or higher) and the audio must be raw — we will apply our own effects processes. Each script should be recorded in a separate audio file with no more than three complete takes per script. If you are recording pick-ups of specific lines, please let us know which ones you prefer or remove the ones you don’t like before sending us the audio.
After this is completed, we will level-match the audio for each clip (script), and mix the voiceover with music and FX.

No. Due to the bespoke and creative nature of our services, we do not offer refunds once work has commenced.

We sell in USD ($) to the United States, Euros (€) to countries in the EU, and GBP (£) for the UK and all other locations worldwide. Consultation & Planning

You’ll speak with a producer who has significant audio engineering experience, and who will help define your reel’s style, tone and direction — ensuring it showcases your strengths effectively. We provide scripts written by industry professionals and suitable music. The Reel package also includes a test read session prior to recording.

Absolutely. We encourage collaboration and will incorporate your ideas while guiding you with industry expertise. We would typically look to identify genres and styles that will support your goals but also that we think you would naturally excel at. Our aim is to produce truly exceptional demos for you, with each clip having an instant hook — so if there’s a specific type of script, style alignment or musical vibe you’d like to explore, we’re keen to hear it.

We typically use Zoom for consultations, making it easy to connect from anywhere in the world. If necessary, we will use or accommodate alternative communication tools where possible.

Yes, as long as your home studio meets our required standards. We’ll guide you through a simple test to ensure your setup and recording environment is suitable and, where necessary, provide the guidance and recommendations needed to help you prepare for a professional recording session.

Yes. If you don’t have a working home studio setup and there are local sound studios in your location, we can (if required) book one recording session for you to attend and record the audio in person. This is inclusive of your Reel package. However, please note: if you seek to record more takes (typically known as revisions) that require additional bookings at local studios, this will be subject to additional booking fees specific to that recording studio. If you have access to a properly set-up home studio, you can of course record multiple takes at your convenience.

Scripts & Creative Direction

No. We offer an extensive and comprehensive script library for this purpose. Whilst you are welcome to source or even create your own material, the sheer volume of our script library offers enough variety and diversity that it’s typically not necessary. If you have purchased a Reel package, we also offer bespoke scripts tailored specifically for your voice and goals.

Absolutely. Our producers are very experienced and will provide honest, candid feedback to help optimise your material. We welcome your input and will work with you to refine your ideas, ensuring your scripts showcase your voice and appeal to potential clients.

Following our initial call, our producers will select and prepare scripts that we feel best match your vocal strengths and align with the types of roles you want to pursue. We can also advise on what types and styles of recordings are currently trending in the industry to ensure maximum impact.

Yes. We recommend and select music that supports and enhances your performance without overpowering your voice. We look for carefully selected backing tracks that will vibe and harmonise with your voice. Music and sound effects are never just “slapped on” as an afterthought, and we actively encourage you to offer input and feedback throughout the music and FX selection process.

Recording Process

Each demo reel requires one hour of recording time. This offers ample time to record multiple takes of your scripts to support the comp process (selecting the best ones for editing, mixing and mastering).

It depends on which package you purchase. With the Reel packages, a professional director will connect remotely and provide guidance during your recording to help you deliver your very best performance during the session. One of our producers will also be on hand during the recording session(s). Please note, this level of guidance is not available for the Sample packages, which are self-directed.

Post-Production & Delivery

We professionally mix and master your audio, combining voice and music to industry broadcast standards. Also, if you have a profile page on our sister company Voquent.com, we will work with them directly to upload the demos to your Voquent profile on completion.

We normally use WeTransfer or Dropbox to send the audio files to you, as the full WAV files are typically too large to send as an email attachment.

Your finished reel will be delivered in both high-quality MP3 and WAV formats.

Yes. If you have purchased a Reel package, your recordings are edited into a complete, fully mastered reel, which we will then send back to you along with all of the individual demo samples.

Potentially. First and foremost, we want you to be delighted with your demos and we’re eager to ensure that you’re happy with the final result. How we approach revisions depends on a range of factors:

  • Have you identified a fault or mistake in our engineering? All of our mixing and mastering goes through QA (quality assurance) prior to us sending you back the final files. In the exceptionally rare scenario where you identify an error or issue caused by our own engineers, we will — without question and at no extra cost — make the necessary corrections or adjustments.
  • Are you seeking to re-record your own takes? If so, this can only be achieved if you have your own home studio. We do not offer additional bookings at local sound studios or live participation from experienced voice directors free of charge — there would be additional costs required to achieve this.
  • In all cases where you’re seeking to re-record and supply new takes, you must also inform us prior to our producers and engineers beginning post-production, as this process can take many hours. If you want us to begin the post-production again with new audio from scratch, this will be subject to additional charges.

In most cases you can postpone any stage of the production process, as long as it does not create a financial impact. For instance, if you seek to postpone a live in-person recording session that we’ve booked in a local sound studio, additional fees may apply for re-booking the studio or a live director’s time. In most (but not all) cases, if you offer 48 hours’ advance notice, we will be able to reschedule resources at no extra cost.

Booked recording sessions can be postponed and rescheduled a maximum of two times. Remember: you are booking time with professional and highly experienced resources (e.g. directors, producers, audio engineers, potential studios etc). Please note that this limit does not apply to extraordinary, unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies or natural disasters — in these cases, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

Script Library Access

The full script library is available through the purchase of either (1) a Vault Access subscription — one single payment for a year’s access, (2) an All Access subscription — charged monthly or annually, or (3) a Reel or Sample package.

The Vault Access subscription gives you one year of unlimited access to our full script library, along with an exclusive discount on any of our demo packages or pro consultations.

The All Access subscription, charged either monthly or annually, gives unlimited access to our full script library, monthly client trends bulletins, exclusive video content and the maximum tier of discount on any demo packages or pro consultations.

If you’ve purchased a Vault Access or All Access subscription to our script library, then yes — this will automatically renew. You can terminate this subscription or turn off auto-renewals at any time, simply by logging into your account and cancelling the auto-renewal in billing.

If you’ve gained access to the Script Vault included with a Demo Sample or Reel package, your access to the script library is limited to 12 months from the purchase date, after which your access will automatically end. There is no auto-renewal for this access. At this point, if you wish to regain access to the script library, you can either purchase a standalone Vault or All Access subscription, or purchase another reel or demo package to refresh your access for another year from the latest date of purchase.

Yes. All of our scripts are royalty-free for use specifically within your demo production and its subsequent promotion. Our script library grants you a non-exclusive licence to showcase recorded performances of those scripts across all personal and professional platforms. Please be aware that these scripts are not licensed for commercial release or for use in any project other than your personal voiceover demo samples and reels.
