Next of Kin to Chaos

Perhaps the voice behind the door spoke the truth. Perhaps the danger was devised of his own invention, and he should slip the loaded gun back into his pocket and release the breath he has held for what seems like hours. Perhaps it was all in his head.

Although, perhaps not.

“These voices in my head are not of my own design”, Markus relented “I am not crazy, and I won’t fall for this trick; I know what you are.”

Markus’ brief moment of self-doubt was quickly replaced by immense resolve. He knew, despite appearances, that that creature was no woman, let alone her. It knew she was his weakness, a simple masquerade is of little effort to the Next of Kin to Chaos, and it would not have him.

He knew he was not crazy, and it would not have him.
