The holiday season arrived early this year when eight hundred low-income families received food baskets and gifts as part of the statewide “Spread the Cheer” program.
The gifts were personally delivered by program volunteers a week before Thanksgiving so that the receiving families could celebrate the holidays without worrying about the cost.
The benefactors shed tears and warm embraces with the volunteers, saying that these gifts gave them hope for a joyful holiday season.
