Evergreen Mills

In the early nineteenth century, Evergreen Mills was a thriving village at the junction of Ivy Creek and the James River. The mills there provided lumber for nearby farms and processed local crops of corn and wheat. Village life was simple and serene but that would soon change with the onset of the Civil War.
